every day i am reminded of how….. inherently non-binary so many black people are
I’m not sure for other non white people but I know for me and many other black people (esp black women) I’ve met we have this shared experience of immediately being seen as a boy/man if we cut our hair/don’t have a wig or protective style in. and some black women feel pressured into looking as Feminine as possible because if you do stray away from it you will get misgendered left and right.
and I’m being honest even when I wear something that is the “pinnacle of femininity” like a dress…. I still get referred to as sir all because I have short hair like…. I’ve been forced to be outside of any binary because no matter what I do I will be misgendered and to this day I am still gender questioning like I’m still not fully comfortable with calling myself non-binary I just don’t know anymore
